In her first appearance after stopping her program and interrogating her, the presenter, Mona Al-Omda, appeared in a television interview, and revealed the scenes of a video of one of the episodes of her program “The New Republic”, which sparked controversy on social media.
She said, “In the first episode, I asked the guest about his opinion of the New Administrative Capital, so they took the video, changed the volume, lowered the lighting, and added music to the video. This was the opinion of one of the oversight authorities on Al-Nahar Network.”
Mona Al-Omda explained that the crisis was not limited to the manipulation of her video, saying: “The second reason is that I was an ear operation, under the influence of painkillers and antibiotics, and this created a state of calm and tranquility, but did not change the pitch of my voice.”
The Egyptian media indicated that the “New Republic” program was presented two and a half years ago, and 52 episodes were shown, and her voice in it did not change, pointing out that the guest’s reaction and his method may have sparked controversy.--
During the investigations, Al-Omda confirmed her apology to the audience and that she would perform a different performance in the coming period, after recovering from the pain of surgery and the painkillers she received, and that she would adhere to the appropriate dress in presenting the episodes, and the channel decided that Mona Al-Omda would return to present her program within a week.-
It is noteworthy that the Al-Nahar TV network decided 10 days ago to suspend the presenter, Mona Al-Omda, presenter of the “New Republic” program.
The channel said in a statement that the presenter of the program, Mona Al-Omda, was suspended, and she, along with the work team and those responsible for it, were referred for immediate investigation.
The decision came after the channel monitored some errors and abuses in one of the last episodes of the program, including what the pioneers of social networking sites described as an inappropriate voice performance by the broadcaster, and decided to stop it until it was returned to the right track or canceled permanently.
