The Sudanese club Al-Hilal announced the date and refereeing staff for its match against Al-Ahly of Egypt in the second round of the African Champions League.
Al-Hilal stated that the match will take place on Saturday, corresponding to February 18, at exactly three in the afternoon.
Al-Hilal also revealed the match’s refereeing staff, led by Mauritanian Beda Dahani.
He is assisted by the duo Youssef Mohamed and Bona Ndiaye, in addition to Babkar Sarr, a fourth referee.
The match is being watched by the south, Soday Makur Magok, while Tunisian Khalil Hisham was appointed as observer of the referees, Ethiopian Michel as general coordinator, and Nigerian Odoshi Gwan as security coordinator.
The 31-year-old referee has never managed a match for Al-Ahly or Al-Hilal throughout his career.
Dahani’s paths intersected with Egyptian football on 4 previous occasions, including 3 as referees for Zamalek matches, and once with Pyramids.-
Dahani was the referee of the match between Zamalek and Angolan Petro Luanda in the Confederation Cup in February 2019, which ended in a 1-1 draw.--
He also returned and managed the Zamalek match against Senegalese Generation, which the White Genie lost 1-2 in the African Champions League in September 2019.
The third appearance with Zamalek was in October 2021, when the Egyptian team beat Kenyan Tasker 4-0.
Dahani also managed a previous important match for Pyramids against Mazembe in the Confederation Cup quarter-finals last season, which ended in a 0-0 draw.
Dahany appeared in two matches in the group stage of the recent African Cup of Nations, the first between Malawi and Zimbabwe, and the second between Gabon and Morocco.
He also managed the final of the 2019 African Nations Cup for Juniors between Guinea and Cameroon.
Al-Ahly is in the second group of the African Champions League, accompanied by Al-Hilal, Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa, and Cameroonian Cotton.
Al-Ahly’s first match in the group stage against Al-Qatan was postponed due to its participation in the Club World Cup.
