Allow me at the outset to express my pleasure in communicating with you personally and directly at the Dell Technologies Forum after three years of being held virtually on the Internet. We see the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as an important market for us, with some of our products controlling more than 50% of the share according to reports from the International Data Corporation (IDC), which is why it is very important for us to be close to our customers here in the Kingdom. This forum brings together business leaders and experts from the sector for in-depth conversations about the shifts affecting the Saudi business landscape. This forum provides local decision makers with unique market insights into ways in which technology can help shape their businesses and ensure growth.   1. Where has the digital transformation reached in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia today?

The healthcare, banking, telecom, education, retail and public sectors in Saudi Arabia have all been quick to adopt digital initiatives. Technologies such as cloud, AI/ML, IoT, warehousing, data analytics, security, and workforce transformation remain; It dominates the largest part of IT investments in these sectors.

We have seen the Kingdom’s interest in accelerating digital transformation, as Saudi Vision 2030 includes an axis related to digital transformation. According to the Dell Technologies Digital Transformation Report, 90% of organizations in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia have accelerated the implementation of some digital transformation programs over the past year. AI and ML will continue to shape the enterprise IT sector in 2023. As more data is generated and analyzed, AI and ML will become more sophisticated and more entities will adopt them. A report issued by PwC indicates that artificial intelligence could contribute up to $15.7 trillion to the global economy in 2030, of which $320 billion will be in the Middle East.

In this context, we have witnessed great progress in terms of adopting artificial intelligence in the Kingdom. We are also investing in local talent through our academic alliance program, where we are collaborating with more than 15 universities to provide educational curricula based on information technology, including artificial intelligence and digital transformation, with the aim of contributing to the preparation of Saudi talents and providing them with the skills they need to be able to join the forces future worker.

Organizations in the Kingdom can exploit AI and machine learning technologies in a number of ways, including automating daily tasks, thus freeing up more workforce to be dedicated to addressing complex challenges and giving them more room to innovate. According to a new study commissioned by Dell Technologies, titled Breakthrough, 72% of respondent employees from Saudi Arabia are looking to learn new skills and technologies, allowing them to focus on more strategic opportunities within their organizations. To address these pressures, companies can automate repetitive tasks, freeing up employees so they can focus on the most important, highest-value work.

AI can be combined with other emerging technologies to better understand and predict consumer behavior, which may ultimately determine which groundbreaking products and services to bring to market. The interaction of artificial intelligence with fifth generation technology and the proliferation of Internet of Things devices will revolutionize the way we live, as it will lead to the emergence of smart places, cities, self-driving vehicles, and much more that we do not think of.
