Ammon – Do not think that those killed in the way of God are dead
God Almighty showed in this verse that the martyrs are not like the dead, but rather they live a decent life with Him in Heaven, and this credit was mentioned in many verses, such as His saying – the Almighty -: ), so God forbade describing the martyrs that they are like the dead, in fact they are alive, and their souls are in the crops of green birds that fly in Paradise wherever they want as stated in the hadiths.
This verse was revealed about the martyrs of the Battle of Badr, and they were fourteen men, and God Almighty revealed this verse to forbid people from describing the martyr as dead, and in the verse is a statement of the life that singled out and distinguished the martyr from other dead people, as it has been stated in some hadiths that their souls are In the hollows of green birds, and some of the polytheists were blaming the Muslims for going to fight and dying without benefit, so God explained in the verse the bliss that the martyr attains with his Lord.
It was said that this verse was revealed about the martyrs of Uhud. They are provided with sustenance with their Lord in Paradise, so in the verse is a directive from God not to think that whoever was killed in the cause of God is among the dead, but rather he is alive and is provided with sustenance with his Lord. With their Lord, they are provided with sustenance and enjoyment.-
The reason for the revelation of a verse, and do not think that those who were killed
The people of interpretation held that the verse was revealed about the martyrs of Badr, and it was said: about the martyrs of Uhud, and the reason for the revelation of the verse is that when the Companions were martyred on the day of Uhud, people began to say: So-and-so died, and so-and-so died, so the verse was revealed. And it was said that the Prophet – upon him be peace and blessings – told the Companions about the martyrs of Uhud that they are in Paradise, and their souls are in the hollows of green birds. The verse, so God informed the Companions of what the martyrs had with Him.
The virtue of martyrdom for the sake of God
Martyrdom for the sake of God has many virtues, including the following:
The martyrs will be resurrected on the Day of Resurrection with the color of blood and the scent of musk, as mentioned in the hadiths.
The martyrs have their souls in the hollows of green birds, and they are forgiven at the first splash of their blood, and they see their seat in Paradise, and they are safe from the torment of the grave, and from the greater terror, and they marry one of the beautiful virgins, and they intercede for seventy of their families, and this came in several authentic hadiths.
The martyrs will be on a lightning bolt at the door of Paradise, from which their sustenance will come to them morning and evening, and they will be alive after their martyrdom enjoying themselves, and the martyr will be happy with what God has given him of His bounty, and rejoice in it, and this has been mentioned in verses and hadiths.
The martyr, God forgives his sins, and atones for his misdeeds.
The martyr wishes to return to the world in order to die again; For what he sees of the great wages that the martyr receives.
