139 players participate in the two championships of the University Athletics Association in Al-Baha
The athletics championship for female students and athletics for women with disabilities, organized by the Sports Federation of Saudi Universities in its third season for female students, kicked off today, Wednesday, at Al-Baha University, and will last for 4 days.
The Director of the Athletics Championship, Haifa Al-Suwailem, explained that the championship competitions will witness the participation of 111 players representing 13 universities. Participation with two (2) students in each competition and one team in each relay race.
In turn, the Director of the Athletics Championship for Women with Disabilities, Lina Al-Ghamdi, indicated that 28 players representing 6 universities will participate in the championship, for three categories of disability, which are the lower mobility disability “wheelchair”, visual disability and hearing disability. The competitions will include (wheelchair races, discus throw, shot put, and javelin throwing), indicating that the championship will apply the international law of athletics and the amendments to the law of the International Paralympic Committee and the conditions of the athletics championship in the Sports Federation of Saudi Universities, and each team has the right to participate with a player to a maximum of 3 players in the track competition with the calculation of the result of the best two players only.-
Today, Tuesday, the technical meeting of the two tournaments was held, during which the eligibility for participation was approved, and the times of the competitions and the numbers of each player were determined.
