The Swedish national handball team defeated the Egyptian national handball team in the first half (9/14) in the quarter-finals of the World Handball Championship held in Poland and Sweden from January 11 to January 29.
The half witnessed complete control by the Egyptian team, which remained ahead of the Swedish team until the 25th minute, but the owner of the land and the fans had another opinion to start advancing in the 27th minute (9/11) to end the half in his favour.

Gracia Barondo, coach of the handball team, had decided to choose Ahmed Khairy, the playmaker, in today’s match against Sweden in the quarter-finals of the World Championships currently being held in Poland and Sweden.

The Spanish expert also decided to exclude the trio, Ahmed Moamen Safa, Shadi Khalil and Mohamed Ali, the goalkeeper, from the match list.

The list of the Egyptian national handball team against Sweden is as follows:

Goalkeeper: Karim Hindawi – Abdul Rahman Hamid

Left wing: Omar Al-Wakil Bakkar

--

Left back: Ali Zain – Hassan Walid Kaddah

-

Right wing: Mohamed Sanad – Akram Yousry.

Right back: Mohsen Ramadan – Mohab Saeed.

Playmaker: Yahya Al-Deraa – Ahmed Hisham Al-Sayed “Dodo” – Saif Al-Derra – Ahmed Khairy

The constituency: Ibrahim Al-Masry – Ahmed Adel – Muhammad Mamdouh Hashem
Egypt’s qualification to the quarter-finals of the World Championship is a great achievement for the African continent, because it provides the opportunity for African countries to participate in the next World Championship with five teams, not just four teams.
