Today, Wednesday, the Al-Qassim region witnessed heavy rains that led to floods with thunderbolts and cold winter weather.
Video clips circulated on social media showed rain with ongoing torrents, thunder and lightning with winter weather and low temperatures.
Rain and torrential rains in Qassim and Riyadh
And the weather expert, Abdulaziz Al-Hussaini, predicted that during the next 36 hours the weather would witness rain and torrential rains in Al-Qassim, Riyadh and the Eastern Province from today until tomorrow, Thursday, extending to parts of Al-Baha, Asir, southern Makkah, Hail and eastern Medina.

In its report on the weather for today, the National Center of Meteorology expected thunderstorms accompanied by active winds in parts of the Eastern Province and Riyadh.
Warnings of rain in Al-Qassim and its provinces
The Directorate also issued an advanced alert based on the forecasts of the National Center of Meteorology about the continuation of the chance of moderate to heavy rain in an expected rainy condition, the effects of which include a decrease in visibility as a result of dusty surface winds, over the Qassim region, and it includes “Al-Asyah, Al-Bukairiya, Al-Khubra, Al-Nabhaniya, Buraydah, Riyadh Al-Khabra, and Ayoun Al-Jawa Al-Bada’ Al-Thamriyah, Al-Rass, Al-Shamasiyyah, Al-Amar, Al-Fawwara, Dharbia, and Uqlat Al-Suqour.
-Civil Defense calls for caution
While the “Civil Defense” called for the need to take precautions and caution due to the possibility of thunderstorms in parts of the regions of the Kingdom, calling for the need to move away from the places where torrents gather, water swamps, valleys and dams, and not to swim, and to adhere to the instructions.
