In a statement, following its meeting chaired by party leader Representative Sami Gemayel, the Kataeb Political Bureau welcomed “every step towards ending the time of impunity, restoring justice to its right course, and the judiciary’s role in consolidating the principle of reward and punishment.”

He saluted “the brave judges who adhere to justice and who seek to establish the truth and uncover the circumstances of the greatest crime that the Lebanese have been subjected to in justice for the blood of the victims.” He stressed “the necessity for the judiciary to regain its full independence, away from any interference or intimidation, and for the law and the realization of rights to remain the criteria for the work of the judiciary.” He appreciated the “deputies’ sit-in inside the parliament,” and saw it as “a democratic expression aimed at shaking consciences and releasing the decision of the parliament and the commitment of the constitution with regard to the process of electing a president for the republic.”

The Politburo stressed that “with the necessity of expediting the election of a president for the republic and the reproduction of the executive authority to stop the deadly paralysis in institutions and the unprecedented collapse in which the country has fallen,” stressing that “choosing a president capable of saving Lebanon remains the key to salvation, otherwise the country will enter a new furnace that will continue.” The next six years will be sufficient to eliminate what is left of the country and completely mortgage it to the will of Hezbollah and the Iranian axis.

He reiterated his solidarity with “the Lebanese Broadcasting Corporation and all Lebanese media outlets in the face of intimidation attempts to silence the diversity of opinions and the other voice, which has recently expanded to undermine critical and satirical programmes.”
