Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The UAE Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology announced that it has implemented a reduction in fees for 14 main and subsidiary services.
The ministry pointed out that the reduction and cancellation of some fees comes to encourage entrepreneurship, support emerging, small and medium projects, enhance the empowerment of the industrial sector and reduce costs resulting from the issuance of licenses and certificates.
She indicated that the application of the new fees started as of January, and the reduction included the issuance of conformity certificate services from a specific conformity assessment authority from a fee of 1,000 dirhams to 670 dirhams, and the service of issuing certificates of conformity for optional (non-restricted) products from 3,700 dirhams to 1,720 dirhams.
It also included a license to use the Emirates Quality Mark from 26 thousand dirhams to 2000 dirhams, a service for licensing the use of the national Halal mark from 18 thousand dirhams to 2000 dirhams, and a service to expand the scope of licensing the use of the Emirates Quality Mark and the national “Halal” from 2500 dirhams to 250 dirhams..
The fee reduction also included the service of appointing conformity assessment bodies from 33 thousand dirhams to 24,500 dirhams, and the service of registering conformity assessment bodies from 7,500 dirhams to 5,000 dirhams.
It included making available the service of selling UAE standards free of charge to manufacturers and dealers, after its cost amounted to 481 dirhams.--
Studies conducted by the ministry’s sectors indicated an increase in the demand for factories to obtain certificates and marks at an expected annual growth rate in the number of applications for the next year of up to 25%, compared to an increase in applications amounting to 12% in 2020, as well as expectations of an increase in applications for licensing the use of the Emirates Quality Mark.-
