Microsoft announced that it will pump billions of dollars in investments over the years in the field of artificial intelligence, by expanding its partnership with the company, “Open AL”, the developer of the “Chat GPT” chat program.

And in 2019, Microsoft invested $1 billion in the company, which was founded by Elon Musk and technology investor Sam Altman.

Microsoft plans to lay off 10,000 workers, but said it will continue to hire in key strategic areas.

“The next major wave of computing is emerging, with advances in artificial intelligence,” Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella said in a note to employees last week.

In announcing this expanded partnership, the company said it believes AI will have a “significant impact on the PC, the Internet, mobile devices, and cloud computing.”

“Emergency”

Created by OpenAL, ChatGBT can provide convincing human answers and responses to questions.

There is speculation about potential misuse of the technology, from helping students cheat on exams to writing malware. But it is believed that this technology has the potential to revolutionize many industries, including the field of research.

Bing is owned by Microsoft, and although it is not as popular as Google, some suggest that ChatGPT is a threat to Google.

The New York Times reported that this prompted Google to declare a “state of emergency” due to concerns that competitors could influence the company’s $149 billion search business.

Google had previously refrained from releasing some artificial intelligence systems for public use.

Microsoft said it was committed to “building trustworthy and secure AI systems and products.”

It indicated that it would use Open AL technology across its consumer products and companies.

In addition to ChatGPT, the company also produces DAI, which generates images based on simple text instructions, and GitHub Kopilot, a system that uses artificial intelligence to help write computer code.

Microsoft said its Azure cloud computing platform will continue to run OpenAL.

Previous reports had indicated that Microsoft was considering investing an additional $10 billion in Open AL, but the company’s announcement did not specify a specific number for the size of its investments.
