The Heritage Commission announced the organization of the first workshop within the Heritage Imprint project, which will be titled “Cultural Heritage Between Yesterday and Today”, and it will be presented by Dr. Saeed bin Fayez Al-Saeed, virtually, tomorrow, Tuesday. The workshop targets those interested in the heritage and antiquities sector in the Kingdom, and the general community.
The workshop will include multiple axes, including defining the origins and development of archeology in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which will be dealt with in two parts. The General Authority for Tourism and National Heritage, the Heritage Authority, and the Department of Antiquities and Museums at King Saud University will discuss the development and preservation of national antiquities. The second part will deal with regulations, regulations, and legislation related to antiquities.
In the second axis of the workshop, the historical development of heritage in the Kingdom will be addressed from the early beginnings and the places of human stability, passing through the prehistoric eras, the historical eras, the early, middle and late Arab kingdoms, the Islamic eras, and ending with the modern era. In the third axis, the workshop will discuss the evidence of the cultural heritage in the Kingdom represented in architecture, arts, rock arts, sculpture, the origins and development of writing, crafts and industries. , Al-Ahsa Oasis, and rock art in the Hail region (Jibbah, Al-Shuwaimis), and the Hima cultural region. Finally, the workshop will look at the national heritage in the light of Saudi Vision 2030.
This workshop comes within the joint efforts led by the Heritage Authority with other parties; To contribute to the definition of the history of heritage and archeology in the Kingdom, and to raise awareness of the importance of preserving the national heritage, in addition to shedding light on the historical development that the Kingdom witnessed from prehistoric times until the modern era, and the evidence and effects it left behind that still bear witness to the heritage richness of the Kingdom’s land.
