Hashim Akl, an expert in the oil and energy sector, said on Monday that there are no commercial quantities of oil in Jordan.
Akl added, during his hosting of the “Nabd Al-Balad” program, which is broadcast on the “Roya” channel, that there are also no commercial quantities of gas in Jordan suitable for selling purposes.

13 foreign companies explored for oil in Jordan
Akl pointed out that 13 foreign companies explored for oil in Jordan and drilled 142 oil wells.
After that, the National Petroleum Company took over oil exploration in Jordan, according to Akl.

And he indicated that most of the oil wells drilled in the Hamza field were outside the “oil reservoir” area.
He noted that most of the studies conducted on oil wells in Jordan were real.
The Iraqi National Oil Company conducted studies on areas in the Jordanian Azraq region in 1983, which revealed the existence of commercial quantities of oil, according to al-Sadiq.
