Amid winter weather and low temperatures, heavy rains fell, causing torrential rains in various governorates of Riyadh and Hafar Al-Batin.

Rain in Riyadh, Hafr Al-Batin and the northern borders

Since the early morning, varying amounts of rain fall on Riyadh, Hafar Al-Batin and the northern borders, with torrential rains and waterfalls and hailstones falling on a number of cities.

Floods flow as a result of falling rain

Video clips circulated on social media showed the flow of torrents as a result of the rains falling in the governorates of Riyadh and Hafar Al-Batin, amid cold weather and surface winds affecting the visibility.

At the same time, the Weather and Climate Association announced that rainy clouds are expected today in parts of the regions; Riyadh, Eastern Province, Bahrain and Qatar.

Cloudy skies and rain clouds over 8 regions

In its report on the weather for today, the National Center of Meteorology predicted a partially cloudy to cloudy sky interspersed with rain clouds over parts of 8 regions, namely: the northern border, Qassim, Riyadh and the eastern region, as well as parts of the regions of Jazan, Asir, Al-Baha and Makkah Al-Mukarramah.

Civil Defense calls for caution

While the “Civil Defense” called for the need to take precautions and caution due to the possibility of thunderstorms in parts of the regions of the Kingdom, calling for the need to move away from the places where torrents gather, water swamps, valleys and dams, and not to swim, and to adhere to the instructions.
