Microsoft has announced that it will stop selling licenses for its Windows 10 operating system for sale later this month.
And it said in a statement published to the media that it will stop selling “Windows 10 Home” and “Windows 10 Pro” downloads, which include “Windows 10” license keys (necessary to activate and use the download), starting from January 31, according to “The Verge”.
Microsoft stopped selling Windows 10 license keys two years before the American company officially and permanently stopped supporting Windows 10 on October 14, 2025.
On the other hand, “Microsoft” did not explain how it deals with similar updates and license keys available from retailers, such as the “Amazon” site.
“The Windows 10 product page has been updated to ensure that customers have the latest information about purchasing options for the Windows 10 operating system,” said Amy Partlow, director of marketing at Windows.
And she continued, “Customers have until January 31 to purchase Windows 10 Home and Windows 10 Pro from the Microsoft website.”
Microsoft recommends to its customers at the present time to use its latest operating system, Windows 11.
Microsoft introduced the Windows 10 operating system in July 2015, which was widely criticized for removing the traditional start menu and button, and adopting a touch interface throughout.
