Yemeni citizens, in the interim capital, Aden, found the artist and musician, Anis Dirham, dead inside an abandoned car, after suffering long illness and neglect.
The Ministry of Culture and Tourism mourned the artist and musician, Anis Dirham, and said in the obituary statement published by the Yemeni News Agency, Saba: “The Aden and Yemeni art scene has lost, with the departure of the musician, Anis Dirham, an outstanding stature and talent. Musical band, in particular the Armed Forces and Culture Band, and he accompanied many great artists in the recordings of their immortal melodies.
Activists on social media stated that the musician on stringed instruments (oud – violin), Anis Dirham, has been lonely and homeless in recent years, suffering from difficult conditions and diabetes, which confined him to a wheelchair.
Journalist Abd al-Rahman Anis said, in a post on the social networking site Facebook, “The Adeni artist Anis Dirham did not own a house in Aden in which he was born, raised, lived and sang. He became disabled and unable to move and work, and when Facebook was full of posts about him, the Minister of Culture approved an amount for him Fifty thousand a month.. The creative violinist was found today dead inside an old broken car, in which he used to sleep as a shelter.--
In turn, the artist, Issam Khulaidi, said that the late Dirham was “a capable and skilled player on (the violin and the oud), a singer who possesses a wonderful technique that is filled with sadness and sweetness, as well as in performance and singing, and a highly sensitive and sophisticated musical ear, and he participated with musical groups, especially the Armed Forces and Culture Band He accompanied many great artists in recording their immortal melodies.-
The journalist, Amal Ayyash, expressed her regret at the departure of the artist and musician Dirham, who always told her about “his illness and suffering with difficult circumstances and his needs, then he moved on to talk about the new patriotic and emotional melodies he prepared.”
