Lawyer Hani Sameh confirmed the escalation of his legal dispute against the Syndicate of Musical Professions, because of festivals singers, explaining that he submitted a request to compel the former captain, artist Hani Shaker, to pay financial compensation, in addition to the current captain, artist Mustafa Kamel.
Lawyer Hani Sameh, in a special statement to “Masrawy”, talked about the case bearing No. 14037 of 76 judicial year, in which he demanded the cancellation of the decision issued by the Syndicate of Musical Professions “during the period of the artist Hani Shaker’s tenure as captain,” to prevent festival singers from singing in Egypt, And he said, “The lawsuit has been amended by appealing to the artist, Mustafa Kamel, in his capacity as the current captain of the Musicians, instead of the former captain, artist Hani Shaker, as the verdict must be issued against the captain in his capacity.”-
And about the position of the lawsuit, after the artist Mostafa Kamel announced the establishment of the Voice Performance Division, which included “Hamou Beka”, on condition that they not be described as festival singers, he said, “We seek, through the lawsuit, to establish a judicial principle, with the aim of preventing the issuance of similar decisions in the future.” In defense of civil rights, and the clarity of the Musicians Syndicate’s deliberate violation of the law and the constitution, especially with the issuance of two judicial rulings by the highest court in Egypt, the Supreme Constitutional Court, condemning the union’s intransigence against some singers and artists, and rejecting the violation of the right to sing as one of the forms of freedom of expression, and against intransigence In setting conditions for registration in the Syndicate and issuing and suspending technical permits.--
Hani Sameh, speaking about the position of the former captain, artist Hani Shaker, said: “A request was added to the lawsuit against Hani Shaker, to compensate for a two-year period of banning festivals singers at a value of one million pounds, as an initial compensation in order to be a deterrent to anyone who violates the provisions of the law and sets himself up as controlling the tastes of the masses.” And a guardian of it.”
And he continued, “Hani Shaker must personally bear the consequences of his decision to ban festivals, and bear all compensation for all material and moral damages resulting from the decision, especially with the proven mass of festivals and the holding of their singers’ concerts in Riyadh, Dubai, and various Arab countries.”
