A short while ago, the Egyptian singer Rania Shaalan passed away, after a struggle with cancer in a hospital in the 6th of October City.

The artist, Hamza Al-Aili, announced the news through his Facebook account, saying: “My beautiful and kind friend, the gentle artist, Rania Shaalan, is in God’s arms. “.

Rania began presenting herself artistically twenty years ago, with her first appearance with the participation of musician Fathi Salama, at the end of the nineties, until she launched her solo singing career about 13 years ago, and she used to present her own style of singing and composing lyrics and melodies.

She is considered one of the most prominent female voices in the alternative music arena. She graduated from the College of Fine Arts, Department of Field Sculpture in 1997. She worked in sculpture while taking music as a second hobby besides sculpture. She began her artistic journey about 20 years ago, especially when she was fourteen years old in an international camp in the United States. United and presented a song by Sayed Darwish.

She participated in many local and international exhibitions, including the First International Triennial Exhibition in Turkey in 1997, the Small Objects Exhibition in Egypt in 1998, the Aswan Symposium in Egypt in 2003, and the Public Exhibition in Egypt also in 2008, in addition to the Perspectives Exhibition in Ubuntu Gallery in Zamalek in 2016.

She took piano and guitar lessons until she reached her current fame, to hold many concerts at the Egyptian Opera House. Rania Shaalan presents her own style of singing and composing lyrics and melodies.
