The French teacher, William Boy, drew attention to him, after he appeared in Saudi traditional dress, speaking Arabic fluently, adhering to customs and traditions in his conversations, and tasting Saudi food such as marqooq and kabsa, through a series of video clips that he broadcast on social media, so that he was able to Build a wide base of followers.
The French language teacher residing in Riyadh, Boy, presented his vision of Saudi Arabia in his own way, expressing his admiration for the Arabic language, which encouraged him to study for a master’s degree, and to return to Saudi Arabia because of his love for its people, especially after his first visit to Hajj.

In the details that Boy recounted in his interview with Al-Arabiya.net, he said: “My brother and I converted to Islam, as well as my mother, who died while she was a Muslim, and after her departure, my brother and I performed Hajj in 2005. My love for Saudi Arabia dates back to the age of 18, and at that time I decided to learn Language, and after that I continued to study the Arabic language at the university in France until the bachelor’s level, then I obtained a master’s degree later, and I started writing a novel in Arabic, and I visited the Arab Gulf countries, especially Saudi Arabia, to practice the language.

He continued: “I practiced the Arabic language during my visit to Umrah in 2005, and within two weeks I visited Medina, Mecca and Jeddah, and throughout the trip I spoke with the Saudis to learn the details of the dialect. In 2017 I returned to Riyadh and lived with Saudi colleagues, until I learned the language more and gained more knowledge.” Of the customs and traditions, and I discovered the Saudi culture in the dress, I wore the bisht and the headband, I ate Saudi food, and I also listen to the songs of Muhammad Abdo.--

He continued: “I feel belonging to Saudi Arabia, and I love life in it and dealing with its people, as it is a country of mercy, happiness and tranquility, and therefore I decided to be a teacher of the French language for non-native speakers, so that I could live in Saudi Arabia and provide benefit to Saudi students, and I also participated in many special events.” In the translation challenge with my students whom I teach French, my team won first place:
And he continued, “I adore the details of life in Saudi Arabia, the way of greeting and peace, respecting the guest, the words of reception and giving gifts, until I merged with the Saudis and made great friendships with them from different regions.”
He concluded by saying that the Saudis love beauty, benevolence, and elegant things, and this is what matches the French, and there is a great convergence between the two countries, according to his words. Many Saudis love to speak French, and my dream is to open a center for teaching the French language in Saudi Arabia.
