Saudi Arabia followed developments in the regional and international arenas, and in this context reaffirmed the Kingdom’s position calling for spreading the values of dialogue, tolerance and coexistence, and rejecting the causes of hatred and extremism.
This came during the Saudi Cabinet session, which was held under the chairmanship of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz, today (Tuesday), at Irqah Palace in Riyadh.
At the beginning of the session, the cabinet was briefed on the content of the two messages that the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the Crown Prince and Prime Minister received from the President of Gambia and the President of the transitional period, the President of Chad.
After that, the Council reviewed the entirety of the state’s work on the political and economic levels during the past days. Especially aimed at strengthening international cooperation in various fields, and finding more innovative and joint solutions to meet global challenges.
In this regard, the Cabinet noted the Kingdom’s participation in the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum held in the Swiss city of Davos, highlighting the progress made within the framework of (Vision 2030) to reach a prosperous and diversified economy that is open to opportunities for joint cooperation with the world, and its effective contributions. And its international initiatives in supporting the stability and growth of the global economy, preserving the environment and limiting climate change.
The Council praised the outcomes of the thirteenth meeting of the Saudi-Swiss Joint Economic Committee held in Zurich, and the signing of memorandums of understanding to expand the scope of cooperation between the two countries and take advantage of the available opportunities in various fields.
The Council was briefed on the topics on its agenda, including topics that the Shura Council participated in studying. He also reviewed the conclusions of the Council of Economic and Development Affairs, the Council of Political and Security Affairs, the General Committee of the Council of Ministers, and the Council of Experts in the Council of Ministers.
The Council concluded with a number of decisions, including authorizing the Minister of Foreign Affairs – or his representative – to discuss with the Costa Rican side regarding a draft general agreement for cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Costa Rica, sign it, and then submit the final signed copy, to complete the regular procedures.
The Council authorized the Minister of Culture – or his representative – to discuss with the Nigerian side a draft memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the cultural field between the Ministry of Culture in Saudi Arabia and the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Handicrafts in Niger, sign it, and then upload the final signed copy, to complete the formal procedures.
The Saudi Cabinet approved an agreement on labor cooperation for employment between the Saudi government and the government of Uzbekistan.
The Council approved the updated schedule of commitments of the Kingdom for trade in services within the framework of the World Trade Organization, and authorized the Minister of Commerce, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Authority for Foreign Trade – or his representative – to present the updated schedule of commitments of the Kingdom for trade in services within the framework of the World Trade Organization, according to the procedures followed by the WTO. world Trade.
The Council also approved the amendments adopted by the International Maritime Organization Assembly to the International Maritime Organization Convention concluded in Geneva in 1948 AD.
It also approved the Kingdom’s accession to the memorandum of agreement of the Regional Air Safety Oversight Organization for the Middle East and North Africa.
The Saudi Council of Ministers authorized the Minister of Education, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation – or his representative – to discuss with the Austrian side a draft memorandum of understanding in the field of technical and vocational training between the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation in Saudi Arabia and the Federal Ministry of Labor and Economy in Austria, and sign it. And then upload the final signed copy, to complete the legal procedures.
The Council of Ministers decided to suspend the work on the automated system for listing home ownership, and it also decided to extend the work of Clauses (Second) and (Third) of Cabinet Resolution No. (515) dated 8/14/1441 AH – regarding the exemption of small establishments with a total of nine workers or less. Including its owner, whoever paid the financial consideration for a period of three years – for a period of one year from the date of the expiry of the period referred to.
The Council of Ministers also reviewed a number of general topics on its agenda, including annual reports of the Ministry of Information, the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture (the water regulator), the Radio and Television Corporation, the National Center for E-Learning, the General Authority of Civil Aviation, and the Communications and Information Technology Authority (formerly). ), and the Capital Market Authority, and the Board has taken the necessary measures regarding these issues.
