He is Rushdi Saeed Baghdadi Abaza, better known as “Rushdi Abaza.” He was born on August 3, 1926, in a very wealthy family. His childhood was wonderful and his Italian mother helped him learn 5 languages, which are English, French, Italian, German and French.


Rushdi Abaza did not plan to enter the field of acting, but the strong friendship with Ahmed Ramzy and Omar Sharif was the reason for his acting career, and in 1949 he presented his first work, the movie “The Little Millionaire” in front of Faten Hamama.

In 1958, his stardom flared up after he participated in a group of important films, such as “Woman on the Road”, after which his works, which became signs in the history of Egyptian cinema, such as “In Our Home is a Man”, “The Wife 13” and “Sunrise and Sunset” followed.

Dunguan married Egyptian cinema 5 times to Tahia Karioka, Sabah, Samia Gamal and Barbara, the American, with whom he had his only daughter, “Kesm,” and two years before his departure he married his cousin Nabila Abaza.

It was often reported that he loved the artist Camelia and could not approach her because of King Farouk, who also fell in love with her and imposed a siege around her.

Rushdi Abaza was very affectionate with his daughter Kasmat, and considered his marriage to Samia Jamal the best period of his life, so he continued with her for 18 years, and on July 27, 1980 Al-Dingwan passed away after a bitter struggle with brain cancer.

At that time, Rushdi’s mother was pregnant with her son, and after her birth, she forced her to leave Rushdie and expelled her from the house. Then the mother went to Mansoura and got married there and tried to take Rushdi with her, but the mother refused and Rushdie lived when he grew up, moving between his grandmother’s house and his mother’s house.

Then his father moved to Cairo and took him with him and then moved with his father to Alexandria and there he joined Saint Mark’s School and Rushdie was fluent in 5 languages. Starring Faten Hamama, and indeed he acted in this film, then traveled to Italy to work in acting there, but his experience did not meet with success, so he returned again to Egypt, and then the great opportunity came to him when Naima Akef chose him to work with her in the movie Tamer Henna.

On July 27, 1980, the artist Rushdi Abaza left our world, leaving behind many works of art, stories and rumors that had been circulated over the years.

On the night of his death, his friend Ahmed Ramzy and his daughter Kassem were next to him, and he was blinded that night. Ahmed Ramzy says that Rushdie had never prayed in his life at all, and he drank 4 bottles of whiskey and 4 packs of cigarettes wrapped in hashish every day.

According to Ramzy, Rushdi Abaza called his daughter, Qusmat and Ahmed Ramzy, and said to them: Help me, I want to perform ablution, because I feel that I will die today, and I want to pray. I hope that God will forgive me before my death. He prayed the two rak’ahs, then he said, “Pray that God accepts my repentance.”

Abaza left, leaving films that have not yet been shown, including “The Mighty”, directed by Ashraf Fahmy, with Naglaa Fathi and Mahmoud Yassin co-starring with him; As for his latest artwork, it is the unfinished TV series, which by chance bore the name “Deal of Death”.
