Mbappe breaks Messi’s record in the Champions League

French striker Kylian Mbappe succeeded in setting a new record in the Champions League, breaking the achievement of his teammate, Lionel Messi.

Mbappe scored two goals yesterday evening, Tuesday, in the confrontation that his team, Paris Saint-Germain, won against Club Brugge, Belgium, 4/1.

What is Mbappe’s number?

The double scored by the Frenchman made him the youngest player to reach the 30th goal in the Champions League.

This comes after he scored the two goals at the age of 22 years and 352 days, while Messi reached this number at the age of 23 years and 131 days in 2010.

So far, the player has scored 11 goals and made 14 in the 22 matches he played with Paris in all tournaments.

Another number for the French

Mbappe scored the first goal after only 70 seconds into the match, before adding the second after only 6 minutes and 23 seconds.

Thus, he is in second place for the fastest double in the Champions League, behind Rodrygo, the Real Madrid winger, who scored a double against Galatasaray in 6 minutes and 13 seconds in November 2019.
