The Lebanese Foreign Ministry said in a statement published on its official page on Twitter: “The Lebanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants strongly condemns the terrorist attack on the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia at dawn today, through a booby-trapped boat, and earlier, through a plane marching towards the Kingdom,” she said.
Beirut continued in its statement: “The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants affirms the permanent support of the government and people of Lebanon by the brotherly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia against everything that affects its security, stability and the safety of its citizens,” as she put it.
Saudi Arabia withdrew its ambassador from Lebanon in late October, due to the statements of the Lebanese Minister of Information, George Kordahi, about the war in Yemen, and expelled the Lebanese ambassador to it.
Riyadh prevented Lebanese exports from reaching its lands, imposing an economic boycott, along with diplomacy, on Lebanon.
The Saudi-led coalition in Yemen had announced the destruction of a booby-trapped boat targeting the Kingdom’s territory.
