The second round of the group stage of the tenth edition of the Arab Football Cup, which will be hosted by Qatar until December 18, concluded on Saturday.
At the end of the second round confrontations, 5 Arab players from 3 countries share the top scorers’ standings, with two goals each:
1- Tunisian Seif Eddine Jaziri
2- Tunisian Firas in Arabic
3- Algerian Baghdad Bounedjah
4- Moroccan Abdelilah Hafizi
5- Moroccan Badr Banoon
Seif El-Din Jaziri and Firas Belarabi scored two goals for the Tunisian team against Mauritania, in the match that ended with the victory of the “Carthage Eagles” 5-1 in the first round.
Also in the first round, Baghdad Bounedjah scored two goals from the “Desert Warriors” quartet against Sudan, followed by Abdelilah Hafezi, who scored two goals from the “Atlas Lions” quartet against Palestine.
And the situation remained as it was at the end of the first day of the second round on Friday, where no one was alone in the lead or any player joined the quartet in it.
At the beginning of the second day, the Moroccan team defeated its Jordanian counterpart by four clean points, in a match that saw Badr Banoun score his second goal in the tournament, thus joining the top scorers list.
4 teams have so far qualified for the quarter-finals: Qatar for Group A, Morocco for Group C, Egypt and Algeria for Group D, while 4 vacant seats are waiting for their owners who will be determined by the matches of the third and final round of the group stage.
