Emirates News Agency – “Ministry of Health”: Launching the Unified National Health Registry through the “My Care” platform


DUBAI, 4th December, 2020 (WAM) — The Ministry of Health and Prevention announced the launch of the “My Care” platform – the unified national health registry… in partnership with the Abu Dhabi Department of Health, the Emirates Foundation for Health Services and the Dubai Health Authority. Represented in linking with each of the “Wareed – the electronic health care information system – at the Emirates Corporation for Health Services in Dubai and the Northern Emirates and “Nabbed” – the health information network of the “Dubai Health Authority”.

The “My Care” platform was launched under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, “may God protect him”. The launch of this platform reinforces the strategic importance of the Unified National Health Registry of the Ministry of Health and Prevention in the integration of digital health by The health sector in the UAE .. While the Emirates Corporation for Health Services, the Dubai Health Authority and medical service providers from the private sector have played a pivotal role in this journey so far.

His Excellency Abdul Rahman bin Muhammad Al Owais, Minister of Health and Community Protection, said that the Ministry of Health and Prevention was able to launch the “My Care” platform, the central system, in line with the UAE’s strategy to develop the health sector, which would improve disease control and population health management through cooperation with the Foundation Emirates Health Services and the Dubai Health Authority as a first stage, and then cooperation with the Abu Dhabi Department of Health in the second stage,” noting that linking with more private sector partners indicates the importance of the “My Care” platform in the digital transformation of health care.

For his part, His Excellency Sheikh Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Hamed, Chairman of the Department of Health in Abu Dhabi, stressed that under the directives of the wise leadership and its proactive vision, we are moving towards providing a world-class health care system and laying the important foundations for its success, including a unified electronic health care system for patients, taking advantage of the advanced infrastructure. His Excellency Dr. Muhammad Salim Al Olama, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health and Community Protection, said that improving the health system in the country by providing comprehensive health services with international standards is one of the priorities of the Ministry in line with the vision of the rational government.. His Excellency Awad Al Ketbi, Director General of the Dubai Health Authority, indicated that joining the “My Care” platform for the authority is an important step towards linking with a larger database of health care information and knowledge base, which will contribute to improving the authority’s ability to serve patients according to higher standards of efficiency, care and patient safety. Noting that the link with “My Care” will add value to “Nabid”, which will benefit the health care scene in the UAE, stressing that the “Nabid” platform was launched within the commitment of the Dubai Health Authority and its keenness on the smart transformation of its health system.

As part of the second phase, the Ministry worked in coordination with the Department of Health in Abu Dhabi to link and exchange information between the “My Care” platform and the “My Malafi” platform – the first innovative platform for exchanging health information at the level of the Middle East and North Africa and one of the fastest spreading healthcare information exchange systems in the world. The world – where it achieved a remarkable achievement in less than 3 years in connecting 100% of Abu Dhabi hospitals through its platform.

Dr. Youssef Al Serkal, Director General of the Emirates Foundation for Health Services, pointed out that the Foundation is a major party in the “My Care” system, as the “Wareed” system provides the central system with more than 50% of health data in the Northern Emirates through 17 hospitals and more than 80 health centers. Expressing his pride that the Foundation is part of the advanced “Reayati” platform, which will help provide a superior experience of health care to patients and is an added value with many positive results, pointing out that this system is a comprehensive knowledge system for health care in the UAE, which will contribute to strengthening The level of quality of health services and helps in the proactive analysis of future services.

The “My Care” platform is an advanced system for documenting health, personal and administrative information and data for each person receiving health services in his own file, and this is done in a sustainable and secure manner with the aim of achieving the safety and quality of health care, facilitating the use of such information by health service providers and regulating its exchange in accordance with the legislation in force in the country .

Health service recipients can use the electronic portal for the unified health file, when available. They can also specify the entities and individuals who are allowed to view their file in accordance with the ministerial decision issued on November 16, 2021 that the health facilities licensed by the ministry should be included in the unified health file system within a year of its issuance in accordance with the controls and requirements set by the ministry.
