The Egyptian Syndicate of Musical Professions, headed by artist Hani Shaker, referred festival singer Omar Kamal to investigation after he uttered the phrase “I carried an insult to his country in Saudi Arabia” recently.
Two days ago, Omar Kamal, accompanied by festival singers Hassan Shakoush and Hama Beka, performed a concert in Saudi Arabia.

This statement sparked a crisis between the festival singer and the Musicians Syndicate, which considered his statement to be an insult to Egypt.
The syndicate stressed that with its full respect for Saudi Arabia, Egypt is “a sacred and protected country throughout history, and such outrageous and outlaw words cannot be sung in it.”
And yesterday (Monday), Kamal, Hassan Shakoush and Hama Beca (the latter two are suspended from singing in Egypt) performed two concerts in Saudi Arabia as part of the activities of the Riyadh season.
