UNICEF: 1.6 million children out of school since the start of the Corona outbreak

The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) said that about 1.6 million children in the world have dropped out of school since the beginning of the Corona epidemic, and called on governments to reopen schools for every child.

UNICEF added that the coronavirus pandemic has disrupted children’s education around the world, threatening to undo decades of progress.

She also stressed that helping children resume their education is critical to protecting their future.

Meanwhile, the Corona virus has killed at least 5,098,386 people in the world since the World Health Organization office in China reported the emergence of the disease at the end of December 2019, according to a census conducted by Agence France-Presse based on official sources Monday at 11:00 TG.

The United States is the most affected country in terms of deaths (763,092), followed by Brazil with 611,283 deaths, India with 463,655 deaths, Mexico with 291,147 deaths, and Russia with 256,597 deaths.

The World Health Organization, taking into account the excess mortality rate directly or indirectly related to Covid-19, considers that the outcome of the epidemic may be two or three times greater than the officially announced outcome.
