Russian media highlights the UAE’s victory in the presidency of the International Interpol


The Russian media, including news agencies and newspapers, were interested in the United Arab Emirates winning the presidency of the International Criminal Police Organization “Interpol” and the election of Major General Dr. Ahmed Nasser Al Raisi, Inspector General of the Ministry of Interior, as head of a new term that will continue for the next four years.
And the news agency “TASS”, “Ria Novosti”, the Russian “Interfax” news agency and others reported the news of Al-Raisi’s election, saying that the Emirati Major General Ahmed Nasser Al-Raisi was elected to the post of Interpol President during the meeting of the 89th session of the General Assembly of the organization, which was held in Istanbul for the period from From November 23 to 25, with the participation of representatives from 160 countries, this will succeed South Korean Kim Jong Yang, who has served as Interpol President since 2018.
The Russian media shed light on the professional biography of Major General Al Raisi, who joined the Abu Dhabi Police in 1980, through the positions he assumed, and ending with his election as head of the International Interpol.
The Russian media referred to the congratulations offered by Jürgen Stock, Secretary-General of the organization, to Major General Al-Raisi on his election, expressing his aspiration to work with him to ensure the continuation of Interpol’s work and the preservation of international cooperation.
It is noteworthy that the international “Interpol” was founded in 1923, and currently has 194 member states, as its field of work is exclusively related to the investigation of criminal cases and the collection and analysis of information on criminals and crimes of an international character.
