Rapper Young Dolph was shot and killed while visiting a bakery in his hometown of Memphis, Tennessee.

The Memphis Police Department told Fox News Digital that officers responded to the Makeda Butter Cookies shooting scene around 12:24 p.m. local time when they discovered a male victim who had been declared dead at the scene.
Police said they have not yet identified the suspect at this time.
The department added in a statement Posted on Twitter Dolph’s alleged murder is “another example of the senseless gun violence that we are witnessing both locally and nationwide. Our thoughts are with the Thornton family and all those affected by this horrific act of violence.”
The prominent Memphis Emsie, 36, was shot after arriving at that popular bakery — which he frequently frequented and promoted on social media — when the alleged perpetrator drove his car and then shot and killed him, the store’s owner, Maurice Hill, said. Fox 13 in Memphis.
Young Dolph’s Lamborghini was sitting in the bakery’s parking lot when the FOX 13 crews arrived at the scene in the South Memphis shopping mall.
A local man in the vicinity across the street from the scene told Fox News Digital that he heard what he believed to be gunshots in the strip mall where the bakery is located.
The man said he heard about 25 shots fired in quick succession, followed by a pause in gunfire. Then the man said he heard about five or 10 more shots.
A local resident said of the tragic shooting, “He took his Lamborghini to the store and they took it, man. They took him away.”
FOX 13, citing Memphis police sources, reported that another person was with Dolph at the time of the shooting.
Despite Dolph having a massive presence in Tennessee, the indie performer and local philanthropist has been mired in killer tours in the past.
In September 2017, Dolph was shot in Los Angeles when he got into an argument with three men outside the Loews Hollywood Hotel.
The massive attack took place in broad daylight in the heart of the tourist district around the intersection of Hollywood Boulevard and North Highland Avenue.
In February of that year, Dolph was in an SUV in Charlotte, North Carolina, when the car came under fire. Three people were arrested later in May in connection with the shooting.
Dolph released an album in April of that year called “Bulletproof” that referenced the shooting in Charlotte. It peaked at number 28 on the Billboard 200 albums chart.
FOX 13 reported a large crowd gathered around the ocean near the scene with some people lying on the ground in tears.
“The tragic shooting death of rapper Young Dolph is yet another reminder of the pain that violent crime brings,” Memphis Mayor Jim Strickland said in a statement to The Associated Press. “My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.”
Dolph is said to have fainted at the turkeys at St. James’s Baptist Mission Church in Memphis on Friday.
