Iranian news websites quoted the Iranian navy as saying today, Saturday, that it had arrested a foreign ship in the Gulf that was smuggling diesel.
Mehr news agency reported that an Iranian marine force seized a foreign ship loaded with smuggled fuel in the waters of Parsian city of Hormozgan province in the south of the country.
The agency quoted Colonel Ahmed Hajian, commander of the “Zulfiqar 412” submarine in Parsian, as saying: “After an intelligence surveillance operation, the marines managed to seize a foreign ship, with 11 crew members on board.”
He added, “After inspecting the ship, more than 150,000 liters of smuggled diesel were discovered and all crew members were taken to the city of Parsian for legal procedures there.”
