Hollywood movie collectibles up for auction


A huge public auction is taking place this week in the American city of “Beverly Hills” for a number of pieces that were previously used in Hollywood films that have achieved wide fame.

Items up for auction include John Travolta’s costume in “Pulp Fiction,” the surfboard used by Patrick Swayze in “Point Break” and Liam Neeson’s lightsaber in “The Phantom Minas.”

The exhibition, which is being held by the specialized house “Julian’s Auctions”, Thursday and Friday, near Los Angeles, presents more than 1,200 pieces related to prominent films, including “Batman”, “Back to the Future”, “Harry Potter”, “James Bond” and ” Game of Thrones, or with celebrities such as Marilyn Monroe, Bruce Willis, Keanu Reeves and others.

It is expected that the black Perry Ellis suit worn by John Travolta in “Pulp Fiction”, and the laser sword used by Liam Neeson as the Jedi warrior Qui-Gon Djin in the movie “The Phantom Minas”, one of the parts of the “Star Wars” series. They are estimated to cost between $20,000 and $40,000 each, as well as Bruce Lee’s famous yellow suit (not worn by the actor himself, but by the stuntman who was in his place).

The costume that Arnold Schwarzenegger wore in “Terminator 2″ was estimated to be between $20,000 and $30,000.

Also on sale are a set of magic wands used by different characters from the Harry Potter films, while action movie fans can seek fake weapons that were used by “Bruce Willis” when he played John McClain in the “Die Hard” series or used in the filming of “Die Hard.” John Wick”.

The auction also includes a fake dagger used in the “Game of Thrones” series to fight creatures that come from frost, and its price is estimated at between three thousand and five thousand dollars.

Bidders are also competing for Marilyn Monroe’s personal belongings, including a handwritten poem, and clothes worn by Elizabeth Taylor and Doris Day, among others.
