A new argument erupted between Riyad Mahrez, the Manchester City first team football player, and Neymar Jr., the Paris Saint-Germain player, during yesterday’s match in the fifth round of the Champions League competition.

Video clips showed Neymar heading towards Riyad Mahrez and then pushing him with his hands, despite attempts by the two stars’ companions to calm the matter between them.

This is not the first time that a quarrel erupts between Riyad Mahrez and Neymar, as it was repeated during all the previous Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City confrontations in which the two stars participated.

Neither Mahrez nor Neymar announced the reason for the constant altercations between them.

The referee of the match between Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain did not see any reason to show Neymar a card for his behavior, as things went smoothly until the end of the match.

Manchester City won a decisive victory over its direct rival in the group, Paris Saint-Germain, with two goals to one at the Etihad Stadium, to ensure the top of the group before the sixth and final round, while the French team qualified second.

Mbappe had applied to Paris Saint-Germain before returning to Manchester City through Raheem Sterling and Jesus.

For his part, Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola praised after the match the cohesion of his team after another impressive performance.
City, who reached the final last season, advanced to the Champions League knockout stages for the ninth year in a row after beating the French team, despite the absence of prominent talents such as Kevin De Bruyne, Jack Grealish and Phil Foden.

“We pressed hard and dealt well with a very dangerous opponent with great potential,” Guardiola said.

“We had a really good game, our aggressive style of possession, defending well and most importantly keeping our style.”

“What gives us consistency is how we performed, the performance was perfect and the audience enjoyed watching us enjoy playing and we hope that it continues for as long as possible.”

City, second in the Premier League with 26 points from 12 matches, host West Ham United, fourth, on Sunday.
