Wydad defeated Hearts of Oak of Ghana in the CAF Champions League

Moroccan Wydad club received a surprise defeat against its Ghanaian host, Hearts of Oak, in the match that took place between them on Sunday evening at the latter’s stadium in the first leg of the second round of the African Champions League, with a score of 1/0.

The only goal of the match came through the player Mansah in the 42nd minute of the match.

The first half of the match witnessed complete control of the red battalion, but the lack of focus on the attackers of Wydad prevented them from reaching the goal of the host team, before the latter succeeded and reversed the course of the meeting in scoring the winning goal by Ghanaian national under-21 player Isaac Mensa at the 40th minute.

The return leg is scheduled to take place at the end of next week at the Mohammed V Sports Complex.

Wydad scored the equalizer in the last breath of the match, but the referee decided to reject it for offside after a shot from Moncef El-Sharshem hit the foot of Tanzanian striker Simon Msova.

Meanwhile, Morocco’s Raja achieved an easy victory over Liberia’s Oilers 2-0, in the first leg of the 32nd round of the African Champions League, which was held at Marrakesh Stadium.

Al-Hussein Rahimi scored the first goal for Raja in the 22nd minute, before Mahmoud Benhalib scored the second team’s goal in the 44th minute of the match.
