The UAE’s victory for membership in the Human Rights Council came after the elections held in the United Nations General Assembly, with 180 votes.
Anwar Gargash, the diplomatic advisor to the President of the UAE, said on Twitter that the UAE’s victory is based on an internationally appreciated record in the human rights file.
And he wrote in a tweet, saying: “We congratulate the UAE’s winning of membership in the Human Rights Council for the period 2022-2024 in the elections held at the United Nations General Assembly, winning 180 votes based on an internationally recognized record in the human rights file, and a successful experience in many areas, such as: Empowerment Women, tolerance and labor rights, which will constitute a qualitative addition to the council.”
