FC Barcelona denounced the verbal attacks by its fans against its coach, Ronald Koeman, while leaving the Camp Nou stadium, yesterday, Sunday, after losing to Real Madrid 1-2 in the Clasico of the Spanish League.

“FC Barcelona condemns the verbal disdain and acts of violence to which our coach was subjected upon leaving the Camp Nou. The club will take necessary security and disciplinary measures so that such unfortunate events do not recur,” the Catalan club said in a statement posted on its official website.

Television footage showed angry Barcelona fans circling Koeman’s car, shouting insulting phrases at the Dutch coach.
