Three workshops were also organized, titled “Pillar of the Green Saudi Initiative.” The first workshop discussed increasing vegetation cover, rehabilitating degraded lands, and focusing on Saudi Arabia’s quest to plant 10 billion trees in the next few years. The second workshop also focused on the experience of Saudi Arabia with regard to the protection, improvement and management of marine areas, especially the experience of King Abdullah University of Science and Technology in establishing a nature reserve with an area of ​​152 hectares dedicated to research; This confirms the keenness to preserve and protect the environment in a scientific manner, and ensures sustainability.
