condemned by the UN Security Council The terrorist attack on a mosque in Kandahar city In southern Afghanistan on Friday, killing more than 60 people and wounding dozens.

The Security Council considered that the Kandahar attack comes in the wake of a number of other attacks that recently targeted religious centers in Afghanistan, the most recent of which was last week’s attack on a mosque in the city of Kunduz in northern Afghanistan.

In a related context, the council members expressed their condolences to the families of the victims, and stressed the need to hold the perpetrators of these terrorist acts accountable.

The members stressed the need for cooperation among all countries in the face of all terrorist attacks that would affect international peace and security.
