Saudi Arabia localizes new professions to provide 32,000 jobs

Egyptian sources indicated that the Saudi Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development issued new decisions to localize several professions and activities aimed at providing more than 32,000 jobs in the country.

Adel Hanafy, Vice President of the General Federation of Egyptians in Saudi Arabia, told RT that among the professions covered by the Saudi decision are secretarial, translation, stock keeper and data entry in all regions of the Kingdom.

The decision came to limit work in these professions to Saudis in private sector establishments, with the setting of a minimum calculation (minimum wage) in the Saudization rate of 5,000 riyals for these professions.

He stated that the decision on the aforementioned professions will enter into force as of May 8, 2022, and will provide more than 20,000 jobs for Saudi males and females.

As for the marketing professions, the minister issued his decision to localize 30% of private sector establishments employing 5 or more workers, and a minimum wage for this category was set at 5,500 Saudi riyals.

This decision will enter into force on April 1, 2022 and will provide 12,000 job opportunities for Saudis.

The Saudi Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development stressed the application of penalties for violating enterprises, and indicated that it would provide packages of incentives and support related to supporting private sector enterprises in employing Saudis.
