In the first semi-final match of the tournament, which was held at the stadiums of Khalifa International Complex, Elias defeated McCain by 11/5, 8/11, 11/6 and 7/11 in a match that lasted for 70 minutes.

Diego Elias, 24, defeated Joel McCain in the Manchester Open final last August.

It is the first time that the Peruvian player qualifies for the final of the Qatari championship, after he started his career from the second round, where the organizing committee exempted the top eight players from competing in the main first round.
