Peru missed a penalty kick in the second half to lose 0-1 to its host Argentina, at dawn today, Friday, in the South American qualifiers for the World Cup “Qatar 2022”.

The Argentine striker, Lautaro Martinez, scored in the first half, and Peru had the opportunity to adjust the result, as the referee awarded a penalty kick in favor of substitute Jefferson Farfan, in the 64th minute when he was trying to evade goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez.

On the other hand, Argentina raised its score to 25 points in second place, six points behind leader Brazil.

The winners of the first four places in the South American qualifiers qualify directly for the finals in Qatar, while the fifth ranked will enter the global qualifiers.
