The Director of the Department of Mosques, Call and Guidance in Jeddah, Majid bin Muhammad Sharahili, stressed that working to implement the distance between worshipers inside mosques and the obligation to wear masks for their visitors; It’s still going.

He said: The continuation of the precautions came in accordance with the circular of the Minister of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance, Dr. Abdullatif Al-Sheikh, in which the telegram of the Minister of Health referred to the Public Health Authority’s offer “Prevention” regarding the authority’s study of the possibility of canceling or reducing the distance of separation in mosques, and the recommendation to continue applying the application. Distancing between worshipers in mosques and reassessing risks periodically in accordance with the developments in the epidemiological situation; As mosques are frequented by worshipers of all ages and health conditions, and there are no points to check the health status in the “Tawaklena” application upon entry.. Accordingly, the Minister directed the employees of mosques to continue to work with the procedures that they were previously informed of, according to what the competent committees saw.

Sharahili explained that not including mosques was part of the decision to ease the precautionary measures that began today; It goes back to the special nature of mosques, which are considered closed places during the performance of prayers and worship, according to what was stated in the minister’s circular, and that mosques are as they are in applying distancing and wearing masks.

He stressed that this matter is according to what the ministry will see, according to what it receives from the competent committees, and that work is still continuing to apply the distance between worshipers, and to oblige to wear masks; He indicated that 33 observers and 18 observers will carry out their inspection tours of the chapels of men and women, each within its jurisdiction, to ensure the safety and preparation of mosques in terms of maintenance, cleanliness and adherence to preventive measures, and to monitor any violation that violates the Ministry’s directives.
