Apple held its second hardware event, Monday, after the iPhone 13 launch event last month. The show was dedicated to Mac and Music products, and the company finally made the MacBook Pro fans an important change that they had been waiting for 5 years ago.

Here’s everything the company announced at the event.

MacBook Pro

The redesigned MacBook Pro was certainly the star of the show, as there was plenty of detail on the new 14- and 16-inch models, with both portable models marking a return to the look of the MacBook Pro line.

Apple recently replaced the Touch Bar with a standard set of function keys, a feature that users of this device have been waiting for for years, in addition to the added MagSafe feature and an SD card slot. And an HDMI port. ProMotion 120Hz screens are also among the new updates included in the new device.

The 14-inch model will have a resolution of 3024 x 1964 pixels, while the 16-inch model will work on a panel with a resolution of 3456 x 2234 pixels.

In addition, the new M1 Max and M1 Pro chipset processors (M1 Pro & M1 Max) pulse inside both models.

All of these new features come at a higher cost in terms of price, with the base 14-inch model and the base 16-inch model slated to start at $199 and $2,499, respectively. And you can pre-order both devices today.

M1 Pro & M1 Max

At the heart of the 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pros are Apple’s new M1 Max and M1 Pro chipsets. Both feature 5nm processors, 10 cores consisting of 8 high-performance cores and two high-efficiency modules, which differ from each other in terms of video and memory performance.

The M1 Pro comes with up to 16 GPU cores and can support up to 32GB of RAM with bandwidth up to 200GB/s.

Meanwhile, the M1 Max beats out 32 graphics cores, doubling the RAM and memory bandwidth.

In practice, Apple claims that the chips are 70% faster than the previous M1 SoC and deliver up to 1.7 times faster performance than competing CPUs from Intel and AMD. ).

AirPods

What we saw in the demo came as a surprise as we were confident Apple would update the “basic” AirPods, but other than the AirPods Pro-like design, we weren’t expecting it to get many new features.

While you won’t find ANC on the updated AirPods, it does include support for spatial audio with dynamic head tracking and Adaptive EQ.

The latter allows AirPods to adjust the low and mid-range frequencies of sound in real time. Other notable features include sweat and water resistance, as well as a battery life of up to 30 hours with the help of the included charging case.

You can pre-order new AirPods starting today for $179. Shipping will begin on October 26. And for those who want to save some money, Apple has cut its second generation AirPods down to $129.

Apple Music Voice

Along with third-generation AirPods, the company announced a subscription plan to Apple Music, a music listening program. It will only cost you $5 per month, but the point is that you can only control the service through Siri.

Apple pitched the plan as the perfect complement to the HomePod mini. As for Apple’s tiny smart speaker, it will be available in 3 additional colors – yellow, orange and blue – starting in November.
