Hani Saeed, the sporting director of the Pyramids team, said that the AS Manyama team is strong and that facing it in the CAF Confederation Cup will not be easy.
Today, the headquarters of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) witnessed the holding of the draw for the supplementary round of the Confederation Cup, which pitted Pyramids with Manema from Congo.
The first leg match between the two teams is expected to take place on November 26, 27 or 28 in Kinshasa, and the return match will take place on December 3, 4 or 5 in Cairo.
Saeed said, through statements reported by the club’s media center, that the Congolese team performed well against Sundowns in the Champions League before it bid farewell to the tournament and switched to the Confederation.
He added that Pyramids is a team that plays in championships and has its eye on the title, and therefore it is ready to face any competitor, especially since the goal is one, which is to win the Confederation.
Saeed pointed to a problem, as described by the official statement, that must be taken into account by the technical staff of the team and the Football Association, especially since the team has set its gathering in the camp in late November to start its journey in the Arab Cup in Qatar, which begins on November 30, with the placement of 9 players from Pyramids in the initial list participating in the tournament. held in Doha.
He stressed that Pyramids suffers from many absences, given that 8 players did not join the African list before the group stage, and it is difficult to miss more elements in the two matches of the Congo champion.
And he concluded that the matter must be taken into account about summoning the players and coordinating with the club regarding the dates of the internationals joining the national team camp during that period in a way that does not harm the interest of Pyramids and exposes his career in the Confederation Cup to any danger.
