On the sidelines of the activities of the second day of GITEX 2021, the Department of Municipalities and Transport in Abu Dhabi and Microsoft signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at cooperation and joint coordination between the two parties in the fields of smart cities and their applications.
The agreement was signed by Omar Ibrahim Al Nuaimi, Director General of Corporate Affairs at the Department of Municipalities and Transport, and Sayed Hashish, General Manager of Microsoft – UAE, in the presence of Falah Mohammed Al Ahbabi, Head of the Department of Municipalities and Transport.
This memorandum aims to lay the foundations for cooperation between the department and the international company specialized in the field of technology and applications, in the areas of smart cities and the development of government services applications, and to discuss frameworks to support the development of municipal services and transport.
The memorandum aims to enhance cooperation between the two sides and coordinate efforts in developing and implementing training programs and smart applications that contribute to building a database and smart platforms.
