Apple releases iOS 15.1 with new features

Apple has started releasing the iOS 15.1 update as well as iPadOS 15.1 for compatible devices. The next big change with this update is the inclusion of SharePlay, which is one of the most important additions to the iOS 15 update, according to GSM Arena.

SharePlay gives the user the ability to listen to songs, watch movies or TV shows, or share what’s on the screen with friends or family while using FaceTime.

SharePlay is currently supported by Apple Music as well as Apple TV+ and other services such as Apple Fitness+, Disney+, ESPN+, as well as TikTok and Twitch, pending other services in the future. This feature works on iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple TV.

Apple also added the option to record video clips in another feature, ProRes, on the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max. This feature is used in the film industry and is supported by important movie cameras and editing applications.

On the iPhone, this feature gives the ability to record at the highest possible quality for editing and post-processing with less pressure than standard mode.

Update 15.1 also contains support for the Corona Virus Vaccine Card within the Apple Wallet application, to facilitate saving and displaying the vaccine card from the iPhone or from the Apple Watch.
