The Abu Dhabi Powerboat Team presented the UAE with a new world achievement by winning the second round of the Formula 2 World Championship, through the main race of the tour, which was held yesterday evening in Ribadoro, Portugal.

The Abu Dhabi 35 boat, led by Rashid Al Qamzi, won the title of the main race after winning the lead for 40 cycles, while the Portuguese Duarte Benefti came second on the “45 boat,” and thirdly the Swedish contestant Bemba Sjohom on “Boat 11.”

With this result, Al-Qemzi jumped to the general standings and second place in the championship with 27 points, to become behind the Lithuanian leader Edgras Ryabko, who has 29 points, after he finished fourth in yesterday’s race. Next week in Vila Velha, Portugal too.

Al Qamzi strongly maintained the UAE’s chances of winning the championship for the third time this season, especially since it won the title twice in the 2017 and 2019 seasons with the Abu Dhabi team, and seeks the third title in the 2021 season.
