Al-Burhan confirms the keenness of the army and the civilian component to make the “transition” a success

The head of the Transitional Sovereignty Council in Sudan, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, affirmed the keenness of the armed forces and the civilian component to make the transitional period a success, leading to an elected civilian government that meets the aspirations of the Sudanese people.

During his meeting with the British Minister of African Affairs, Vicky Ford, on Wednesday, Al-Burhan stressed “the commitment to the constitutional document, and the preservation of the partnership between the military and civilian components.”

He also referred to “the strength and timelessness of Sudanese-British relations, and Sudan’s keenness to develop them to achieve the common interests of the two countries and peoples,” praising “the support Britain has been providing to Sudan to achieve democratic transformation.”
