Video – Despite being fluent in English, a minister requests to speak Arabic in an international forum!


Jordan’s Minister of State for Media Affairs, Sakher Dodin, asked to speak Arabic instead of English at the International Conference on Government Communication in the Emirates.
At the beginning of his speech, Dudin said: “I can speak, write and understand English fluently, but because I am in the United Arab Emirates and because I come from the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and because 99% of the audience are Arabs, let me speak in Arabic.”

On Sunday, the activities of the tenth session of the International Forum for Government Communication were launched under the patronage of Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah.

The two-day forum, organized by the International Government Communication Center at Expo Center Sharjah in the UAE, will witness the attendance of 79 local, regional and international personalities from 11 Arab and foreign countries, including former heads of state, ministers, decision makers and government officials, as well as a group of influencers and media professionals.
In its new session, which is held under the slogan “Lessons of the Past, Aspirations for the Future,” the Forum presents a set of prominent models of communication and communication with peoples and societies in different circumstances and focuses on policy makers and those who contributed to the transfer of Arab culture to the world.
