UAE: Natural gas supports economic growth over the next 50 years

“Gas will play a pivotal role in enabling economic growth in the UAE over the next 50 years,” said Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Technology, and CEO of Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) and its group of companies.This came during the opening of the Gastec 2021 exhibition and conference, which will be held under the patronage of Vice President Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, at the Dubai World Trade Center from September 21 to 23, according to (UAE News Agency).

Al Jaber explained that the UAE has achieved regional leadership in natural gas projects and has succeeded in exploiting it commercially based on a number of pioneering initiatives in the sector, pointing out that natural gas will play a pivotal role in supporting the UAE’s efforts to achieve its vision for economic growth set out by the (Fifty Principles). .

He continued, “The (Fifty Principles) charted a clear path of progress based on ten guiding principles, aimed at making the UAE the best and most active economy in the world,” noting that gas will play a pivotal role in growth and expansion plans.

The Minister of Industry and Technology explained that new innovations contribute to making gas cleaner and more sustainable, noting that the UAE is applying modern technologies to produce carbon-free fuels, such as hydrogen.

Gastec is the world’s largest exhibition and conference for the gas, liquefied natural gas, hydrogen and energy sectors.
