The son of the legend Schumacher and Mazepin continue with “Haas” for the 2022 season

Sochi (Russia) – AFP
Team Haas announced Thursday, on the eve of the Formula 1 Russian Grand Prix, that it will retain its German drivers, Mick Schumacher and Russia’s Nikita Mazepin, for the 2022 season.
“Mazepine (the son of the boss of one of the team’s main sponsors) and Schumacher (Ferrari-backed Haas) will be together for the second year in a row,” the US team said in a statement.
The two 22-year-old drivers made their Formula One debut at the start of the season, and are the only drivers this season who have not scored a point due to the car’s poor performance in particular.
But team principal Gunther Steiner reassured that “we believe in our ability to develop as a team and to provide Mick and Nikita with a capable car in order to take a step forward in their Formula 1 career.”
In turn, Mick Schumacher, son of the legendary seven-time world champion Michael, said: “This first year with Haas is exciting and rich in experience and I am sure that next year I will be able to bring with me all the experience I have gained.”
“With the new technical regulations (for 2022), the fantastic ambition of the whole team and the support from Ferrari, I think all this will bring us closer to the competition in 2022 and enable us to fight for points.”
