Egypt raised $3.75 billion from another three-tranche transaction in February after issuing a first $750 million green bond a year ago, the first sale of green bonds from a Middle Eastern country.
Earlier this month, Deputy Finance Minister Ahmed Kajouk said that Egypt intends to increase the number and frequency of its green bond issuance after last year’s issuance.
The Ministry of Finance said last August that it would start selling sukuk in the first half of next year.
